Massimo Interiors have created a bedroom oasis in the form of a luxuriously appointed master bedroom, designed to provide an escape from the hustle and bustle of family life. The inspiration for this bedroom was the photograph of a zebra hanging above the buffet titled ‘Wild Beauty’ by Peter Lik. Massimo used this image as a starting point of the creative process for the entire room. The result being an inspired fusion of old-world hotel elegance with distinctly contemporary energy and a dash of glam. The large space is transformed with the introduction of furniture, perfect for creating separate sitting areas and an inviting atmosphere. The four-post bed creates a statement at the back wall while the blue velvet upholstered sofa takes centre stage, anchored by the custom designed geometric rug. The two grand armchairs, across the entry, provide a beautiful vignette by the windows. The dark and sexy atmosphere is brought to life by the charcoal grass-cloth wallpaper, warm brass accents and two vintage Italian 1940’s wall sconces in Murano glass. The design is a curated collection of antique, vintage and contemporary furniture, giving the room a unique style. The lush blue velvet sofa creates a regal, child free zone and the zebra pattern from the photograph is echoed in the fabric of the two lumbar cushions. On the marble top coffee table, an edited array of accessories, books and flowers bring warmth and sophistication, and a ‘wink’ candle by Fornasetti adds a light-hearted reference to the room. The curtains soften the windows and wrap the room, blocking out the light when fully closed and creating a sense of tranquil serenity – making it the perfect sanctuary.
